Umbria Bike Tour

A true "ombra", this small Italian region emanates incredible beauty and incomparable charm from beneath a cloak of relative obscurity. Welcome to the green heart of Italy - where you will encounter medieval towns that time has forgotten and tourism has hardly touched. On this bike tour through Umbria you will feel as if transported back in time as you take a seat at a potter's wheel alongside a master craftman in Deruta - the village famous for its ceramics. You will cycle through these untouched towns and explore this lush Umbrian landscape that is blanketed in chestnut groves and elm forests, rolling hills and dotted with castles and medieval monasteries. As you make your way through the legendary towns of  Spello, Montefalco, Deruta, Torgiano and Bevagna you will encounter moderate terrain,  climbing up hills and riding through vineyards of Sagrantino grapes. The culmination of this bike tour is a ride to Assisi where you will have the opportunity to view the incredible art (including works by some of the greatest artists of the Early Renaissance - like Giotto, Cimabue and Simone Martini) created in homage to St. Francis, the town's native son.
